Res Life – Meal Plan Financial Appeal
You will receive communication about your appeal through SAU email. Appeals will be granted under special circumstances and examined closely by the Food Services Committee.
Instructions & Important Information
• Only students with at least junior status (60 credit hours or more) will be allowed to appeal their meal plan based on financial hardship.
• The Food Services Committee will verify all information with the Office of Financial Aid. Typically, you must have exhausted all forms of financial aid available to you and have had an extreme change in circumstance.
Please realize this process takes time. Therefore, continue using your meal plan until the committee reaches and communicates a decision. If your appeal is approved, meal plan charges will be pro-rated based on the date your appeal was submitted to the Residence Life Office.

Keep in mind that your appeal must be of an outstanding nature to warrant approval.

As noted on the housing contract all on-campus residents must have one of the designated meal plan options. If appeal is successful, reimbursement will be pro-rated to the date appealed. All decisions are final.
